Empire beach is a beautiful setting off of lake Michigan. The water can be cold at times, but this week was just right.

Solar Wind

Solar Wind

I really like how the sun beams shine toward the windmill in this shot. The sky and clouds were just wonderful on this day making this shot even more spectacular. This windmill provides electricity for the Horrocks Farm Market in Lansing Michigan.

Relative Time

Time Challenge
Relative Time

Here is my submission for this week's photo challenge "Time Piece" with fellow blogger Kevin. I captured this in the back yard while at a pool party this weekend. All week I took photos of my wrist, my watch, threw my watch into the air, but none of them were as interesting as this sun dial. When I saw it I was glad that the camera was at my side. Check out Kevin's blog to see how he interpreted the challenge.

Here's another silhouette shot from yesterday's photo shoot. The girls had to jump several times to get this shot, and they did splendidly.

Silhouette Supermodels

Silhouette Supermodels

These supermodels were gracious enough to pose for this silhouette as the sun was setting. Ok, supermodels is a bit of a stretch, but they were happy to pose anyway.

Sun Beams

Evening Sun Beams
Sun Beams

Clouds and sun are easy targets for a photographer, but most require being in the right place at the right time with your camera. This was one of those situations. Later this same evening I missed an amazingly lit auburn sky, but I think this was better.

Gimmie Sun

Red Flower Open
Gimmie Sun

This red flower opens during the day collecting the sun's goodness. I just don't know what kind of flower this is. Anyone out there have a green thumb?

Morning Sun

Morning Sun
Morning Sun

The only good part about waking up early is the sunrise (with some exception for coffee and eggs.) This morning's sunrise was a delight. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. A little bit of post processing was dun to bring out the richness of the sun's color using Paint.Net. Taken with a Canon Powershot SD750.
