Equine Photography

I can't tell you how thrilled I was to photograph these equine jumpers. This sport blew me away when I first saw it and I found photographing it quite a challenge. For one thing, the horse is very aware of my presence and I needed to be very careful where I stood and how I acted when the competition was underway. Below are a couple of my favorites from the day.

Saddle Up

Saddle Up for equestrian jumping

I had the pleasure of photographing some equestrian jumping last week and it was a great joy. I learned all about the sport including when and where to take photographs. I will have the opportunity to photograph a lot more in the near future so stay tuned for some really awesome photos.

Jumping Around Lansing

Jumping Around Lansing

A jumping tour of Lansing brought us to the Capital building. It was on this very location that I learned how to do a back handspring.

Last photo from this photo scouting event. I love all the locations to take portraits at Van Hoosen Farms. It's a great place to take wedding photos or portraits.

Jumping for Joy

Jumping For Joy

This girl is one of my favorite models because she is so vivacious and happy all of the time. Jumping seems to bring out the best in people sometimes, and this show really worked well.

Sunset Silhouette

Here's another silhouette shot from yesterday's photo shoot. The girls had to jump several times to get this shot, and they did splendidly.
