Throwing Away Good Memories

Shooting for me today means I had to capture these little wine bottles before they were thrown away. I felt like their memory was being thrown away and wanted to capture them before they disappeared forever. My wife and I drank these on a train between London and Paris during our trip to Europe 5 years ago. These wine bottles sat on my dresser since our return and every time I looked at them I was reminded of that wonderful trip. Seeing them in the trash made my heart ache but I understand that things can't be kept forever.

On my way to hair and makeup I captured this photo. It's a location that I took the bride and groom on their engagement session so I thought it was a fitting capture to start the day.

Orion's Belt in Lake Orion

Lake Orion is commonly mispronounced like the word Orion in Orion's Belt.  I'm not sure why we say it that way, it's just the way I've always heard it.  Here's Orion's belt taken from within the City of Lake Orion this morning.  This was taken hand held so the stars are just a little bit fuzzy.  It was a good exercise in holding my breath and staying as steady as possible.  Not bad for 1/5 of a second shutter speed.
