Strong Door

Strong Door
Strong Door

The current photo assignment that Kevin of Kevin's Photography and I have been working on is "door knob." In order to capture this photo assignment I took the classic route and found all kinds of door knobs from the front of a church, the door to a caboose, but I kept coming back to this shot of the door to a log cabin. This is the door to a log cabin that was built in 1850 and home to Andrew and Elizabeth Strong and their Children (hence the "Strong" Door.) Let me know what you think.

Grand Tune

The northern window at the end of this shot let in the most amazingly warm light. There's something wonderful about a child learning to play piano, and I hope I captured that emotion with the little fingers pressing the keys in a dainty way.

Meadow Handle

Meadowbrook Door Handle
Meadow Handle

You are looking at the entrance to the grand Meadowbrook Mansion. This is the door handle to the front entrance gate of the mansion. The rust in the handle tells you a bit about how old it is, and the detail in the handle shows the craftsmanship of the metal artist that heated the steel and formed the piece.
