Accidental Captures
I saw this shot through the viewfinder and pressed the shutter. Ok that happens to me a lot, but I saw this image of my smokin' hot wife standing outside of Lipuma's in Rochester and put the camera to my face, made no camera adjustments, and just took the shot so I wouldn't miss it. The background was a bit over exposed, but after viewing it on the screen I really liked the affect. I quickly adjusted my settings and took another shot but it was no where near as genuine and the look and feel of the shot was bland. I like my accidental capture much more and I think I just might incorporate it in some of my future shots.

Make A Wish
An organization that is near and dear to my heart is the Make-A-Wish foundation. They came to our home and asked what our daughter wanted. Anything in the world. Ok, no mortgage payments or home improvements, but all else was fair game. Who did she want to meet? Where did she want to go? What did she want to do? My daughter wanted to meet the princesses at Disney World, and so the wish was granted. A limo pulled up to our home, picked us up, took us to the airport, and off we went to Disney World. We had an amazing time where we were able to forget the chemo and all the treatments and just be kids (the entire family.) It was royal treatment and something I will never forget.

Dreamland BBQ
More than one person recommended this place to me when I was in Alabama, so I had to try it. The BBQ sauce was amazing at this place and the sandwiches were terrific. I wish I had tried the ribs, but I had to leave something to try the next time I'm in the area. If you get a chance, find a Dreamland BBQ and get some amazing southern BBQ.

John Pemberton and his mighty Coke
This photo was taken outside of the World of Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta Georgia. I thought this angle of the statue made for a great photo. It shows John Pemberton (the inventor of Coke a Cola) holding his creation.

Bald Rock
My goal was to capture a sunset, but what I didn't anticipate was the amazing view from the Bald Rock Trail in the Cheaha State Park. This is the highest point in Alabama with a breathtaking view of the state perched high above on some white (bald) rocks of the Appalachians mountains.

iPhone Photo Friday 7-10-2009
Today was a travel day and I found myself bending over to capture this photo while traversing from one plane to another. As I was bent over taking this shot (with my butt blocking the walk way) , the man that was waiting for me to finish said "that's a new one on me" as he walked by. I suppose I interrupted his travel for 10 seconds, but the shot was worth it. Sorry traveler dude, hope you made your plane.

4th of July 2009
On the 4th I brought my camera and tripod to the Lake Orion fireworks display. I was hoping to get a shot with multiple explosions in the air, but due to budget constraints this year the fireworks only went off one at a time. So instead of getting the shot that I was hoping for (which often happens) I altered my plan and put the zoom lens on to capture closeups of the explosions.
