1/20th Challenge

Recently I challenged those on the Edward John Photography Facebook fan page to a 1/20 second photo shoot. Basically the idea is to take a photo at 1/20th of a second hand held with no tripod. It's a great exercise to challenge yourself to hold the camera steady. Brace your elbows in toward your body, breath out, pull the trigger very softly.

Here's my 1/20th challenge. Taken at f2.8 with ISO 800 around dusk.

Wedding shoes hangin'

Finding a good location for the wedding shoes is a fun challenge at the start of a wedding day. Gets me in the mood to shoot and be creative. Here's a shot from last weekend's wedding.

Pink Shoes

Taken at a portrait shoot last week. The shoes came off to run barefoot in the grass and I had to capture these shoes in all their glory.

Passion

The theme for today's portrait session was "Passion." This photo is intended to tell part of the story of passion through vivid imagery.

Meeting of the minds

What does this photograph mean to you? For me, it means several things including great conversation, friends, comfortable footware, alternate perspectives, and baseball. I tell stories with photographs. Not every photograph tells the story you intended it to, so let me hear your thoughts on this shot.
