Another Fountain Kiss

I've been working this image during the last two engagement sessions. I think having the couple stand much further away from the fountain helps with the shot.

This photo was a personal challenge when on my last engagement shoot. The groom pointed to this fountain thinking that there was no way it would work for a shot. I think I made it work.

The Ring

From last weekend's engagement session.  This ring has a sweetheart diamond on the band as well that has a special inscription in it.

Photo I've waited 10 years to capture

I saw this picture about 10 years ago while in Frankenmuth and I was ecstatic when Christine and Adam were willing to go there for their engagement session. We had a great time and captured some amazing photographs. There were about a million more photos that I wanted to take, but 2 hours is more than enough time to ask a couple to smile or look sexy. I could photograph about 100 engagement sessions in this city and have 100 unique perspectives here. It was beautiful and I can't wait for the next session there.

Clarkston Photo Walk

I've been wanting to photograph an engagement session in downtown Clarkston Michigan for quite some time now. It's quaint architecture and beautiful park is a perfect setting for photographing two happy people in love. Jane and Cameron Engagement Part 2

One more shot from Sunday's engagement session. I love the natural framing of the trees and the background with this shot. I can only imagine eating family dinners every evening while looking at this tremendous view.

Jane and Cameron Engagements

There is a tradition at the University of Michigan that is told to all of the students. It is said that any couples that kiss under the arch near the diag will be married, and this is where Cameron asked Jane to be his bride.

A bit of a boat ride. The mosquitoes were not my friend while photographing these particular shots.

Cameron and Jane were a delight to work with. The lighting and the location were just perfect for the shoot.

Dragging the Shutter

Here's a shot I have been wanting to get for a while. It's a "dragging the shutter" shot where Tom and Jessica stayed real still for me allowing me to keep the shutter open for a bit longer than normal. It gives a nice sense of motion to the photo in contrast with the stillness of the subject.

Meet Tom and Jessica. Yesterday this amazing couple joined me in beautiful downtown Rochester Michigan for their portrait shoot. We really had a great time exploring the city for textures and photographic opportunities.

The first thing I noticed about the two of them were their matching Dr. Martens, so this photograph had to be taken.

We photographed near sunset, and the sun was casting some wonderful shadows.

Tom and Jessica, thanks for allowing me to capture this moment in your lives.
