Sparkie Turns 11 Today

My dog Sparkie turns 11 years old today. In dog years that's kinda old, but she's one of my best friends. She's laying on the floor right next to me as I type this and it's comforting to know that she's there. Starting to show her age with the amount of time it takes her to get up the stairs. She has moments of spunkiness when we play catch, but she doesn't last as long as she used to. I call her Sparkie the wonder mutt, because that's what she is.

Half Dalmation, half rotweiler, 100% man's best friend. Sparkie was a gift that turned out to be a great friend. She's a fan of glucosamine due to her age, but she still gets around and has one mean bark. I call her a party dog because she becomes everyone's best friend at parties. Always on the lookout for free food, she doesn't beg for it though. She and I went to puppy kindergarden when she was young and it taught me more than it taught her. We learned how to lay down, sit, stay, circle, and heal. Sparkie is truely a wonder mutt.

Meet my alarm system

Man's best friend is also a great alarm system. Here's my dog playing in the snow. We have several inches of the stuff right now.
