Orion's Belt in Lake Orion

Lake Orion is commonly mispronounced like the word Orion in Orion's Belt.  I'm not sure why we say it that way, it's just the way I've always heard it.  Here's Orion's belt taken from within the City of Lake Orion this morning.  This was taken hand held so the stars are just a little bit fuzzy.  It was a good exercise in holding my breath and staying as steady as possible.  Not bad for 1/5 of a second shutter speed.

Checkers Grand Opening in Lake Orion

The other day I received a tweet from @starmode6 letting me know about the grand opening of the Checkers in Lake Orion.  I drove by there today for lunch and the place was packed!  I'm so happy to see new business arrive in Lake Orion and was happy to order a number 10 for lunch.  The fries were delicious.  Seriously.  I need to do a P90x workout to get rid of them, but they were so worth it.  Here's my photo essay from the visit today.

It's been raining a lot here in Lake Orion. I think this post from my twitter friend @slothandglutton said it best. "Another perfect day in Lake Orion, Michigan...if you're a DUCK!!" I took this photo after photographing yesterday's very raining baseball game. Baseball photos to come soon, but for now.....Here's a duck.

Cheer Loud

1st Place Lake Orion Regional Cheerleaders

Yesterday the Lake Orion cheer team took first place in the regional competition and boy was it amazing.  Loud, very loud, but that's what it's supposed to be like.  Here is a link to see the rest of the images.

Coach Of The Year Billboard

It's quite humbling seeing my picture blown up on a billboard.  Coach Bell was honored to be the Detroit Lions High School coach of the year, and I was asked to provide a photo of him from the football field this year.  I drive by this billboard every day and seeing it makes me smile.  Congratulations Coach Bell!

Am I on the line?

The ref didn't know that the lens was right by his head for this shot. I knew that KJ was going to be looking at the ref to verify that he was on the line so I stuck the lens right next to the ref and took the shot as he looked my way.

What an amazing game to witness. It seemed like Marcus Stevenson blasted through the defense like they were not there at all. Way to go Dragons.
