No longer a Freshman Quarterback
Today was the State Finals for High School Football at Ford Field. I had the distinct pleasure of being on the field to chronicle this event. Although the Dragons lost this game, I think the season was a complete win.
The theme for today's game was "No longer a Freshman Quarterback." That's because that stigma for Sean Charette will be gone after today's game. I had a great time following this quarterback this season. I think I'll let the following pictures speak for themselves.
I title the following image "Character"
One other sub-theme I had for this game was to capture some of the aspects of the game that we don't normally see on ESPN or Sports Center. Here is one of those shots.
This next shot wowed me as I was taking it. The sea of orange beyond the quarterback was overwhelming, and I think this shot puts it into perspective.
"Come on clock, give me one more chance"
The bus ride home was a quiet one (I suspect.)
Congratulations on a great season Lake Orion!

Reflection
Reflection
I enjoy the intensity of the look this boy is giving out the window and the reflection seen in the glass. The blue eyes with the snow reflecting in them is really great as well. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Special thanks to my brother and his wife for driving many miles to visit. Today was really wonderful.

Builder of the snow woman
Builder of the snow woman
Here's a portrait of the architect of this snowwoman. The pink scarf was a great touch to this pint sized ball of snow and ice.

Barbed Sunset
Barbed Sunset
I've been trapped at work every day for the past two weeks. I see this view every evening at sunset. I was finally able to get my camera for this quick shot. I wish I had a step ladder, because the image I really wanted to take was from about 2 feet taller than I am. I still like the perspective of this shot though.

Manhattan Beach Profile
Manhattan Beach Profile
Here's one of my favorite photos from last weekend's photo shoot. It's been a tough week for photography here in LA. I have seen every sunset this week through old dingy windows without the ability to photograph them.

Blue, Sky, Love
Blue, Sky, Love
I love so much about this photograph, it's hard to describe every feature. I love the sand on the face from the beach.
I love the sunset in the background.
I love the expression on this child's face.
I love the blue eye's and how rich the color looks.
I love that I did virtually nothing to the color .
I love the curly hair.

Beach Portrait Session
Beach Portrait Session
Photographing at the beach at sunset is one of the most challenging lighting opportunities that I have ever had. Knowing your camera well and being able to alter settings quickly is essential. We only had an hour to get these shots at Manhattan beach before I had to go back to my real job, but I think they turned out great.

Focus on the QB
Tonight Lake Orion plays against Romeo in round two of the playoffs. I wish I could be there to shoot this game, but it would be a bit difficult being here in LA. I would need quite a telephoto lens to cover it :)
Here's a shot I took last week that I have not discussed yet. At first glance it looks a bit blurry, but this shot was completely intentional. I slowed down the shutter speed and as I took the picture I zoomed out. This allowed me to show focus of the quarterback while giving everything around him the sense of motion.

LA Flower Thingy
While on a photo walk here in LA, I took a photo of this flower thingy, but have no idea what kind it is. Any one have any insight into this tropical beauty, please leave a comment and let me know.

LA Photo Shoot
Here's an impromptu photo shoot for my first day in Los Angeles.
This girls a super model in the makeing.
The next few images were quite a challenge to get. This boy was interested in playing, but not interested in posing for any photographs. So a fast shutter and reverse psychology was required. I think the results are great.
