Bridge to the subject

This is a piece that I hope will go on my client's wall. When we took this shot I told them that it may not come out because the location that I had to shoot from was not ideal. When I reviewed this shot I was not entirely happy with it at first. Once I removed the color I started to like it more and more. I like how the bridge leads your eye to the couple standing there. What do you think?

Royal Oak Location Scouting

Later this week I have an engagement session to shoot in downtown Royal Oak and I wanted to see what this city had to offer photographically. This city has a lot of great features that will make for some great engagement shots, and I am very excited to see what we can come up with during the evening. I think I'll be using this park bench for one of the shots. Stay tuned....

Rochester Park Portrait Session

It all started two years ago with a coupon. A Christmas gift in the form of an IOU for a family portrait session was given and then forgotten about (so they thought.) Steve told me how the grand parents presented the coupon a few weeks ago and requested a family portrait before Christmas time. So all ten of them met me at the Rochester park on Sunday and we had a blast. The following is just a sneak peak of this amazing family.

I really love these overhead shots a great deal.

We did not feed the duck, it was just as curious to know what Grandpa was talking about as the boy was.

As soon as this one sat down I had to take this shot.


They look happy now, but I bet 5 years ago these siblings were fighting and chasing each other.

Every photographer says that their next shot is their favorite, and this next shot is above that for me. It's nice when the picture on the back of the camera looks exactly as you pictured it, and this was no exception. I saw this image when we crossed the bridge and I had to take it.

A lot of people have been asking me about my camera status, so here's an update. My Nikon D80 was returned to me by the Camera shop yesterday and it had not been fixed. I think they cleaned the sensor and tried to send it back to me even though they had explicit instructions to replace the sensor. Once a pixel dies it spreads, so I want another sensor put into my brand new camera. So far my satisfaction level with this particular retail company is very low. I have the camera for the weekend and will be taking some shots in Columbus Ohio, but will be giving it back to the shop on Monday to be repaired. Stay tuned for more on the dead pixel saga.
